And here we go for a very glamorous wedding at beautiful Sanctuary Cap cana ( one of the most beautiful venue in Punta Cana by far). And the best is that we photographed their friends’ wedding a few years ago. It is nice to see how paths are connected.
Heidi and Trey met through a mutual friend, whom attended their wedding in Punta Cana. Trey proposed in New Orleans where they reside. He planned a romantic evening at City Park and made arrangements for them to be picked up at one of the lakes in the park by its owner in a beautiful Italian gondola. “He had thought it all out, he even had a bottle of wine with cheese and crackers, and romantic melodies in the background. Just as the sun was setting, as we were passing through the beautiful sculpture gardens of the park, Trey got down on one knee and asked me to marry him, and of course I said yes! The owner of the gondola was able to capture some photos of us in the moment. It was so romantic!
For the brides who are planning a destination wedding at Sanctuary, here is Heidi’s general review ( there is more at the end of the post) . Hope it helps.
“After months of researching for perfect destination venue, we finally decided on The Sanctuary. It ended up being the perfect location/venue and exceeded our expectations, as well as our guests. The Sanctuary’s staff from the hairstylists to the butlers and were so kind and generous to us. The resort was all-inclusive and adults only. The food ratings and reviews were excellent and the liquor was premium, we were very pleased. We were married on the private island of the castle and our reception followed afterwards at the Grand Terrace Balcony. 50 of our closest friends and family were able to join us, which meant the world to us. The resort was absolutely gorgeous and the grounds were breath-taking. Rosy (our on-site wedding coordinator) met with us shortly after we arrived and we went through everything together. She was amazing and went above and beyond to ensure that we were taken care of. “
Congrats and enjoy their story.

“In regards to the photography, I was referred to Photo Souvenir by friends who have used them in the past. Although, I later learned that once you receive the “wedding workbook” from your online coordinator with The Sanctuary, they offer three different vendors for photographers within the resort. Anyone else you choose is considered an “outside vendor” and the resort charges you an additional fee of $800.00 (U.S.) At the time of booking with Photo Souvenir, we were unaware of this fee, but we would do it all over again. They were worth every penny and we were overall extremely pleased with edits and quality of the photos. From the start, what really stood out with them was how personable they were. On their initial email response back to me, they started off with congratulating us and wanted to know more about us, the proposal, and my vision, as well as giving me more details about their history and what they were about. Severine and Renaud did a beautiful job capturing all of our special moments and were a pleasure to work with. They worked together as a team and their compassion for what they do behind those lenses is truly evident through the finished product of their photos—they were stunning! Choosing Severine and Renaud (Photo Souvenir) was one of the best decisions I could have made!”
